Placer County's Local Hazard Mitigation Plan

About the Plan

The Local Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan, developed in coordination with cities and special districts, evaluates the county’s exposure to natural hazards such as flooding, drought, wildfires, and severe weather events. Although such hazards cannot always be prevented, the plan provides a strategic framework for reducing the long-term risks and impacts of disasters. Additionally, jurisdictions that participate in the plan become eligible to apply for grant funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
