Earlier this year, San Juan Water District’s Field Services team successfully completed a major infrastructure improvement project along Lawrence Drive, proactively replacing aging water facilities before they could become a source of leaks, breaks, or service disruptions.

Working in coordination with Flowline Contractors, the team replaced 21 water services, including relocating service connections, taps, and meter boxes where appropriate. The project also included replacing two wharf hydrants with new wet-barrel fire hydrants, an air release valve, and a mainline gate valve, along with additional repairs to existing facilities. District crews performed the work within the roadway, while Flowline completed the portions outside the roadway. The work was carefully coordinated into separate outage areas to minimize impacts to customers while completing these important improvements.

Projects like Lawrence Drive are an important part of the District’s commitment to proactive maintenance and long-term system reliability. By replacing infrastructure before it fails, we can reduce the risk of unexpected water outages and emergency repairs while continuing to provide safe, reliable water service to our customers.
