Planning Your Winter Veggie Garden

Workshop hosted by Marlene Simon, “The Plant Lady”

San Juan Water District is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Water Efficiency Workshop:

Starting Your Winter Vegetable Garden
Tips and Tricks for a Productive Cool-Season Garden

A smiling woman in a plaid shirt stands by pots and flowers, suggesting a gardening theme.

Marlene Simon, better known as “The Plant Lady,” will be joining us to share her tips and tricks for planning, planting, and maintaining a successful winter vegetable garden.

While summer may be winding down, fall is the perfect time to get your winter garden growing. Marlene will walk participants through the process—from preparing and amending your soil to choosing what to plant, dealing with common garden pests, and giving cool-season vegetables the conditions they need to thrive.

And for the first time, we'll be hosting the workshop on San Juan Water District's new covered patio. Come enjoy the cool late summer morning weather, grab a cup of coffee, and spend the morning learning how to make the most of the fall and winter growing seasons.

Date: Saturday, September 19
Time: 9:30-11:30am (Presentation begins promptly at 9:30am)
Location: 9935 Auburn Folsom Rd., Granite Bay
