San Juan Water District has joined with 44 other water agencies and associations to oppose legislation (AB 1668 and SB 606) that would give the State Water Resources Control Board unfettered authority to establish water conservation mandates into the future. San Juan and its coalition partners are requesting the Legislature to define the standards and let local water agencies define implementation measures, based on landscape design requirements that were in place when properties were developed.
