The Highest Standards Although San Juan water comes from among the most pristine watersheds in the country, SJWD also rigorously tests its water for 200-plus contaminants on a daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual basis. Water is tested, checked and rechecked by state-certified water quality staff. Samples are then compared against state and federal standards every day, around the clock, to confirm your water is of the highest quality. In addition, every year, SJWD prepares and distributes to its customers a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) known as Water Fax that summarizes testing of contaminants in drinking water. This report includes a comparison of San Juan water to standards set by the California Department of Health Services (CHS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The CCR consistently demonstrates that the quality of San Juan water is excellent and meets or beats state and federal drinking water standards.
