How To Read Your Bill

District Information:
Includes San Juan Water District’s physical and mailing addresses, phone number, Web site and office hours.

Account Activity:
Shows meter reads, meter read dates, number of days in service period and total consumption in units (1 unit = 100 cubic feet = 748 gallons.)

Amount Due:
Indicates the base charge, tier totals for consumption, and total amount owed. If you are signed up to have the amount of your water bill automatically deducted from a bank account or charged to a credit card, it will be noted here and your payment stub will indicate that nothing is due. If the amount due is followed by “CR,” this indicates an account credit and no payment is due.

If you have signed up for an equalized payment plan, this section will show the actual bill amount and your equalized payment plan amount. These two amounts may be different. Your equalized payment plan amount, which reflects what you actually owe at this time, is featured at the bottom of this section.

Account Information:
Includes customer name, property address, account number, bill and due dates and the service period for the bill.

Please note that your account number now combines your previous account number with your customer number. For example, if your account number was 12345678 and your customer number was 0001234, your new account number is 12345678.0001234.

If you currently use an online bill payment service, please notify your service that your account number has changed to a new format.

Special Message:
The special message box contains important customer service news, information about district programs and services, special notices and rate change reminders.

Payment Stub:
Please remove this portion of your bill and return it with your payment in the envelope provided.

Usage History:
Your usage history is now included on the back of every bill, helping you compare and track your water use from billing period to billing period and your seasonal use from year to year.
