Your Water District
San Juan Water District is a community services district established by a vote of the citizens in 1954. The District provides reliable, high-quality water service to both retail and wholesale customers in eastern Sacramento and southern Placer counties.
With a rich history dating back to the Gold Rush era, we have served our community for more than 150 years. Our mission, and highest priority to our customers, is to take all necessary actions to ensure the delivery of a reliable water supply of the highest quality at reasonable and equitable costs- every day, year in and year out.

We Provide and
Manage Your Water
- Service for approximately 265,000 customers in our retail and wholesale areas
- Treatment and delivery of more than 65,000 acre-feet of water per year through approximately 218 miles of pipeline to wholesale and retail customers
- Retail division serves portions of Roseville and most of Granite Bay in Placer County and portions of Orangevale and Folsom in Sacramento County
- Wholesale customers include San Juan Water District, Citrus Heights Water District, Fair Oaks Water District, Orange Vale Water Company, a portion of the city of Folsom (north of the American River) and periodically Sacramento Suburban Water District

Our Compliance & Qualifications
We Comply with Water Efficiency Measures and Environmental Regulations by:
- meeting or exceeding SDWA drinking water quality standards.
- issuing customer water alerts that encourage water use reductions during shortages.
- auditing all water uses within the District according to California Urban Water Conservation Council's strict requirements.
- participating in the Water Forum Agreement to plan for our region’s water supply to 2030, while preserving the fishery, wildlife and aesthetic values of the Lower American River.
