San Juan Prevails in CEQA Litigation

Justice scale, gavel on book, blurred city skyline in background.

On May 6, 2024, the Sacramento Superior Court ruled completely in San Juan’s favor, ending the California Environmental Quality Act litigation brought by the Citrus Heights Water District and the Fair Oaks Water District. The ruling denied the motion from the plaintiffs demanding that San Juan pay their attorneys’ fees and costs. This nuisance litigation had no merit and the complaint was dismissed by the Superior Court on January 10, 2024.
